Programming in Fortran is like a monarchy: With the right guy, it’s not so bad, but there’s just too much potential for abuse.

  1. Also like a monarchy: it’s out-of-date, inflexible, unadaptable to change, anyone still using it has a vested interest (usually monetary) in never changing to anything better, and has pretty much gone the way of the dinosaur…
    Okay, maybe that’s a little too harsh…
